Aghada played St Catherines in the Abernethy Cup on Wednesday the 6th of June. A bit of controversy here as when the final whistle blew, most observers had Aghada winning by two points. However, the man the matters most, the referee had it as a draw and so extra time had to be played. Aghada kicked on big time in extra time and with Charlie Terry and Stevie Keeffe to the fore, Aghada hit a very impressive hit 1-11 in the extra time period to run out comfortable winners on a 2-26 v 1-21 scoreline.
