A Chara,

A short newsletter this week to detail ticket requirements for our upcoming hurling championship games. Before we get into those technicalities, our U19 footballers had a great win against Carbery Rangers on Monday evening winning out in the end on a score line of 1-10 to 1-07. This was a County Quarter Final so our lads now face Eire Og in the County Semi Final with date and venue to be confirmed. It was brilliant to see our lads dig deep in the game especially when we were reduced to 13 players. Great heart and desire was shown by the 13 players on the field to get us over the line. Well done to all of the players who togged out and a special well done to Diarmuid Byrne who was awarded Aghada GAA Lotto Man of The Match after a tremendous display.

Unfortunately, our Premier Intermediate Footballers fell short in Ovens last Saturday losing out to an impressive Bantry Blues team. All is not lost for Aghada tough with two more group games left to play against Na Piarsaigh and Castletownbere.

First up tough is the massive intermediate hurling clash against Midleton in Castlemartyr at 4pm tomorrow, Saturday. Our lads have been preparing well all year and after a strong league campaign will be hoping to get a win in their first group game. Best of luck to Captain Ciaran O'Shea, manager Willie Wallis, his selectors Donal Godfrey, Pj Hurley and Donal Walsh along with all the players togging out. Drive it on lads and hopefully we come home on Saturday with a win on the board.

On Monday our Junior B Hurlers take to the field in their first championship game of the year against Lisgoold. The game throws in at 3pm in Cobh. This team reached the Junior B East Cork final last year so will be hoping for a good start to this year's campaign. Best of luck to manager Pa O'Connor, his selectors Ger Lynch, John Paul O'Connor, Lar Collins and Colm O'Brien along with all the players involved.
