Well done to our Premier Intermediate footballers who had a good win last weekend against Castletowbere in Dunmanway.

Our 1st teams have a breather this weekend and then the following Saturday we have a very important hurling clash with Ballincollig under the floodlights in Pairc Ui Chaoimh with a 7:30pm throw in. It will be great to see Aghada back playing at Cork Gaa headquarters and hopefully we will get a great result too.

This Saturday our JB hurlers have their final round robin championship game at 5pm in Shanagarry. Here we face Midleton and with one win and one loss, realistically we will need to win tomorrow to progress. Best of luck to all involved here.

We have another huge game coming up on Saturday the 9th when the Aghada born and breds take on the Aghada blow ins in a masters charity football match. The lads are training hard. Yes actually training!! Some lads are really looking forward to it, while others have taken to crashing Go Karts to get out of playing. Next week will see the final preparations – ie – the stretching of the jerseys, and then it is all systems go for Saturday. The games, which take place to raise funds for our clubmate Sean Kenny, start with a mothers and others game at 12pm and then the men will limp onto the field at 1:30pm. Limp on, carried off!! So come along for a bit of craic and to support a great cause in Rostellan on Saturday the 9th. If anyone has access to a loan of a stretcher or 2, could they bring them with them! The link for the gofundme page is here and best of luck to all taking part and orgainising.

Fundraiser by Colin Rooney : Aghada Blow ins VS Aghada Born & Bred (gofundme.com)

Speaking of charity fundraisers, the cycle for Marymount in memory of Kieran in the summer presented a cheque for a massive €42,000 to Liam Kearns of Marymount tonight in the club in Rostellan. A fantastic achievement and again well done to all who took part and all who supported.

Sin é,

Best to all wielding a hurley or kicking a football in the green and white of Aghada this weekend,

Slán go foill
