Aghada are fielding 2 teams at U12 hurling this year which are from here on to be christened the ‘greens’ and the ‘whites’. The ‘greens’ travelled to play Castlelyons in their 1st league game on a rainy Tuesday night last. The home team dominated the 1st half and led by 2-5 to a goal at half time. The Aghada goal was well taken by James O’Donnell. The Aghada lads all upped their game for the second half. Roger McGrath and Ronan Devoy marshalled the defence for the 2nd half and with Ryan Kelleher and James O’Callaghan also to the fore for the 2nd half, Aghada started to slowly claw back their opponents. It was all square with time almost up, but a point from Colm O’Donoghue was quickly followed by a goal from Jude Devoy (who exceled from start to finish) and the Aghada comeback was complete. Final score Aghada 5-4 v Castlelyons 2-9
