With both these teams coming in on the back of two wins it was going to be a tight battle but Aghada will be disappointed after leaving this one slip away after a dominant first half performance. In the opening 10mins both teams traded scores but after the 21st minute Aghada opened up and took control and scored 3-05 without reply with some fine goals from Jake Morrissey, a long range dropping shot from David Murphy & another low to the back of the net by Robbie Oosthuizen. That blitz left Aghada with a commanding 3-08 to 0-06 lead at half-time.
Carrigtwohill came out rejuvenated in the second half and chipped away at the deficit with a steady stream of points. However an excellent goal from a brilliant sideline cut by Dara O' Brien, followed in by Shay Rooney to put us back with a ten point lead should have sealed the game. But Carrigtwohill did not go away and continued to get scores on the board and with 5mins on the clock the two teams trading points and despite Aghada's efforts to stay ahead, the pressure mounted. With just 30 seconds remaining and the margin down to three, Carrigtwohill struck for a dramatic goal to level the game, just as the final whistle blew.

With both sides searching for a league win, Aghada hosted Erinโs Own on Wednesday evening. Aghada got off to a bright start, registering three points within the opening five minutes. However, that early momentum quickly faded. After the unfortunate injury to Cian Moore, who was forced off with what has now been confirmed as a broken collarbone, Aghada struggled to find their rhythm. However a well taken goal from Isaac Oosthuizen in the 29th minute, gave the halftime score 1-5 to 0-7.The second half saw Erinโs Own gradually extend their lead, taking their chances efficiently and steadily pulling away on the scoreboard. Aghada, on the other hand, will rue their missed chances and numerous wides.
We extend our best wishes to Cian Moore on a full and speedy recovery. His presence will be sorely missed over the coming weeks.

Aghadaโs U14's made the journey north to Ballyhooly on Friday evening to take on Ballycastle Gaelsโa juvenile amalgamation of Ballyhooly and Castletownrocheโwith both sides eager for a win.
Aghada couldnโt have asked for a better start as straight from the throw-in, Bobby Creedon found the net inside the first minute. But the home side quickly responded, with three points from their standout midfielder, who would prove to be a constant thorn in Aghadaโs side throughout the game.
Despite the early pressure, Aghada stayed composed and fought well. Points from Conor OโNeill and Jack Kelleher ensured the sides went in level at the break. Aghada 1-04 Ballycastle Gaels 0-07
The second half continued with both teams trading scores in a tight affair. Aghada were buoyed by a superbly taken goal from Conor OโNeill as he drove at the defence on the 11-minute mark, keeping them firmly in contention. Ballycastle hit back with a goal of their own to edge one point ahead and began to pile on the pressure.
However, Aghada showed immense character. In a thrilling three-minute spell, they fired in two quickfire goalsโfirst a ball in from Jack Kelleher, caught by Seรกnie Walsh who turned and made no mistake in finishing, followed by another clinical strike from the ever-dangerous Bobby Creedon, it was now 4-06 to 1-11, with less than 10mins left.
Ballycastle werenโt done yet, putting Aghada's defence under real pressure & resulted with a goal and four unanswered points. A late free from Jack Kelleher dropped into the square, but a save by the keeper denied Aghada the draw. Well done to lads who battled well & will have learnt lessons for their next outing against Bride Rovers at the end of the month.
