Aghada GAA Juvenile Match reports 15th – 21st April

●Rebel Óg East U-16 Div1 hurling league           15/04/23   Aghada  3-15 – St. Finbarrs 1-8 report by Declan Crowley  Aghada played their 2nd match in this years league campaign on a cold windy night in Rostellan and playing with the aid of the wind came out of the blocks in a determined mood to get at the Barrs from the off and scoring the 1st point of the game from the excellent Cian Moore, never took the foot off the gas all game , leading 3-12 to 2 pts at the break with the goals from Tom Walsh, Matthew Condon and Adam Lewis ( on for the injured Cillian Burke) , the second half was back to the wall stuff as the Barrs came out and threw everything at us but helped by the lads from the bench and 2 great solo points from Shay Rooney when introduced we saw the game out for the first points of the league season...Team – John Dorney,  Eoghan Walsh,  Josh McCarthy,  Will O’ Mahoney,  Sam Morgan, Kaylan Cunningham,  Cormac  Crowley, Jake Morrissey,  Cian Moor, Jack Dorney,  Tom Walsh,  Sam McAllister,  Matthew Condon, Jack Mulcahy, Cillian Burke , subs all used. Cillian Scanlon,  Shay Rooney,  Jamie Sweeney, Adam Lewis,  Robbie Oosthuizen  and Rossa White.

 

●Rebel Óg East U14 Div2 Football league  15/04/24
Erin’s Own  3-6 Aghada 3-2.                                                      U14 (2) travelled to Caherlag last Monday evening which saw some fine football on display and some positional changes saw goals on both sides with a switch from our goal keeper Harry Burgoyne to full forward to snatch a  goal and with Rían O’ Brien also played out to centre forward a great team performance unlucky not to score a few more points to seal the win. Everyone played their part, but there are honourable mentions for Darragh Callanan, Marcus O’Loughlin, Cormac Byrne, Rían O’Brien, and MJ Duggan. ●Rebel Óg Coiste Fe18 Premier 1 Hurling League
Aghada 0-12 Sarsfields 1-15.         17/04/2
Last Wednesday night saw these Prem 1 teams play out a fine game of hurling in Rostellan with some excellent saves from the Sars keeper keeping Aghada from getting the much needed goals. A solid performance all round with defence working well and accurate free taker James Hurley, they march on to face near rivals Midleton in the next round on the 1st May. Team: James O’Donnell, Andrew Murphy, Ronan Devoy, Evan Crowley, James Motherway, Seán O’ Callaghan, Colm O’ Donoghue, David Wallace, Samuel O’Driscoll, Seán Corkery, Hugh Mulcahy, James Hurley, Robert Dean, Tomás Condon, Isaac Oosthuizen. Subs used Tom Walsh, Cormac Walsh, Sam McAllister.
